SPRING OPEN HOUSE/STUDENT SHOWCASE-- May 25, 2022
This week we are excited to invite families to our campus for Spring Open House on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Students will lead their families to their respective classrooms in order to share their learning and show their work. We ask all of our families to check in at the Taft Tent. We will have questions for families to ask their students as they tour campus.
Our students will be showing what they know through STUDENT LED CONFERENCES!
Please COME and SEE all the exciting learning opportunities happening at Taft.
2021-2022 CAASPP/SBAC ASSESSMENT CONTINUES
This week State Testing will focus on students who were absent on a day of testing.
Also 8th Grade students will begin the California Science Test.
2021-2022 Sexual Health Education Program (SHEP)
TAFT students in 6th and 8th grade will begin SHEP educational curriculum this week.

FIELD TRIPS May 24, 2022
Our 8th grade team will be visiting the Famous San Diego Zoo on Tuesday, May 24th . The bus will be leaving promptly at 9:15 am.

MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY May 27, 2022
In observation of the Memorial Holiday, the San Diego Unified School District will NOT have school on Friday, May 27, 2022 and Monday, May 30, 2022. Please take this opportunity to remember the dedicated soldiers who have given their lives in service to OUR Country.
SDUSD MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS LEAGUES - SOCCER
The Soccer Team was victorious this weekend winning 7-3 (Bethune) and 6-1(Wangenheim) in double-header action on Saturday. Joao Boni Matarazzo scored all 13 goals!!
Please join me in Congratulating Joao Boni Matarazzo (Middle Forward) and Andre Osorio Nunez (Goalie) for being named Players of the Games.

8TH GRADE PROMOTION CEREMONY June 14th @ 9:00 am
Eligibility criteria for the promotion ceremony, as well as all other 8th grade activities, are as follows but NOT limited to:
- A minimum G.P.A. of 2.0 on the P4 progress report
- No more than one F on the the P4 progress report
- No more than one U on the P4 progress report
- No suspensions after the P3 progress report
This week we will be contacting students and families for eligibility.

2022 PrimeTime Summer Program
Program Dates: Tuesday, June 21 - Tuesday, August 2 (30 days/closed July 5)
Program Hours: Hours vary based on the school's Summer Experience schedule.
Student Eligibility: SDUSD students attending the Summer Experience in the morning will be eligible to apply to participate in PrimeTime in the afternoon at the same school site including students in Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) through eighth grade during the 2021-22 school year.
