Dear Taft Families,

This is Vice Principal Dr. Iverson calling with our Sunday announcements.  We hope everyone enjoyed your weekend because this upcoming week is packed full of activities! This Wednesday, March 09, 2022, is a Minimum School Day.  We will dismiss at 2:03 p.m.

Progress Report 4 Grades

Grades posted and closed on Friday, Mar 4, 2022.  Grades should be available for viewing on PowerSchool by Friday, Mar 11, 2022. 

SSC/SGT Meeting

SSC and SGT will meet on Thursday, Mar 10, 2022 at 4:15 via Zoom 858 935 2650

The Rosin Box Project Dance Company

Celebrated dance teachers will be working with Taft Middle School students on their dance techniques and creative group choreography beginning Mar 21, 2022 - Jun 14, 2022 on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00pm-5:30pm.

Semester 1 Drive Through Celebration

A Semester 1 Drive Through Honor Roll Celebration will occur on Saturday, March 12, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  This outdoor event will honor students who earned above a 3.5-grade point average in both academics and citizenship.  Students and families will be notified via email.

The Middle School Basketball Tournament is ON! 

Taft will compete in a middle school basketball tournament on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at the Clairemont High School gym.  We will play Innovation Middle School at 4:15pm.  All are invited to attend!

Our final practice will be tomorrow, Monday, March 7, 2022. Those students who have been selected to represent Taft will be advised during this practice.  Basketball Practice will be from 4-5 pm.  Please note, to participate, students must have a minimum 2.0-grade point average based on our 1st semester with no recent suspensions.  

All students who participated regularly in practice will have an opportunity to attend the game.  The bus will leave the school at approximately 3:00pm on Tuesday and return to the school at 6pm.

Student athletes must participate in weekly Covid testing.  For questions about the tournament, please contact Dr. John Iverson at [email protected].
