This is Principal Garcia-Rubio calling with our Sunday update.
GRADES FOR TERM 2
Term 2 ended on Friday, January 22, 2021. Grades are available on PowerSchool. It is very important that students keep with their assignments and for our families to be in communication with our teachers during this time. Even though the school is closed, teaching and learning is still at the heart of our work. If you have any concerns about your child’s grades, please contact your student’s teachers via email. Any other concerns may be directed to our Head Counselor I, Mrs. Sanchez at [email protected].
TERM 2 HONOR ROLL CRITERIA
To qualify for Honor Roll, a student must have a 3.33 grade point average or above, with no D’s or F’s and no N’s or U’s. We know our Eagle Scholars can do this! A big thank you goes out to our families who encourage our scholars to do their best.
TERM 3
Term 3 began on Monday, January 25, 2021. Students will be in these classes until April 11, 2021.

English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)
We invite all of our parents to participate in our English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). We will have a meeting on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. via Zoom. We will use Zoom code 858 935 2650. The meeting will be in both Spanish and English. All are welcome to attend.
SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL (SSC) AND SCHOOL GOVERNANCE TEAM (SGT)
Our School Site Council and School Governance Teams will meet this Thursday, February 4, 2021, at 4:15 p.m via Zoom. Our code is 858 935 2650. We will discuss and review our existing Title I budgets. All are welcome to attend and our agenda is attached.

8th Grade Family Night--Topic: Kearny Small School Selection & Promotion
Mrs. Sanchez, our Head Counselor I, will host an informational night for our 8th grade students. She will have information on the Kearny Small School Selection. We will also begin to plan for 8th-grade promotion. This meeting will be on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom. Our code is 858 935 2650.
6th and 7th Family Nights--Topic: Course Selection for 2021-2022
Mrs. Sanchez, our Head Counselor will also host an informational night for all existing 6th and 7th-grade students to review the course selections for next year. She will be guiding students through the articulation process in the coming weeks. This event will be on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 5:30 p.m via Zoom. Our code is 858 935 2650.
SCHOOL ACCOUNTABILITY REPORT CARD (SARC)
Public schools throughout California are required to provide information about themselves to the community in the form of an annual School Accountability Report Card (SARC). These report cards provide a variety of data to allow the public to evaluate and compare schools in several important areas:
demographic information
school safety and climate for learning
academic data
class size
teacher and staff information
professional development
fiscal and expenditure data
The SARC, which follows the state's guidelines and document template, are issued each Spring and focus on the previous academic year. A Link to our SARC is attached in this communication.
