What is Taft PTO?

A place where family and staff can come together to help supplement and enrich the educational experience, develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging family involvement, and enhance Taft's environment through volunteering and financial support.

Why Join the PTO?

> Know what’s happening during your child’s middle school years

> Network with others in the community to share ideas 

> Be a part of positive changes at Taft Middle School

> Work to expand programs & social/family events through fundraising/volunteering 

> To have the most diverse group for widest representation

What is “Joining” the PTO, and what are the commitments?

It is a “do as you can” and “all help is appreciated” kind of commitment, so you can make it fit for your life and family. "Joining" means you pay the membership fee as a donation to the PTO, and as a nonprofit, that money goes to directly benefit students through programs, events & teacher stipends we sponsor. Meeting attendance is not required, but becoming a member means you have voting rights during them. Everyone is welcome at meetings regardless of membership. Everyone can donate items or volunteer their time in different ways, as little or as much as fits your budget and availability. The phrase “many hands make light work” describes how we can function most efficiently. We can’t do our best without your involvement!
