Dear Taft Families,

This is Principal Garcia-Rubio calling with our Sunday update.

Tomorrow, we kick off the first day of the 2020-2021 school year!  Please remember to check schedules on Monday, August 31, 2020, for any updated information or class schedule changes.

CHROMEBOOK AND TEXTBOOK DISTRIBUTION

We will continue to issue devices and textbooks to our students this week, Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Students who have Chromebooks from their previous district elementary will not receive a device.  Chromebooks will only be issued to students who are new to the district or who did not check out a device over summer.  Please contact Ms. Enrique at [email protected] for more information.

For Chromebook repair or replacement chargers, please contact our IT department at 619-732-1400.

Student passwords may also be requested through this number.

SCHEDULE 8/31/20-9/4/20

Students are to check in with their first period teacher tomorrow, Monday, August 31, 2020, at 9:45 a.m.  Students should enroll in their first period teacher's Google Classroom and the codes are attached in this communication.  At that time, students will receive more information for live instruction, including the link to the district created material.  Attendance will be taken during first period.  Please report any absence to Ms. Rosemary Acevedo at [email protected]. This class will last one hour and end at 10:45 a.m.  Students will then work independently at home.  There are many activities for them to choose from so please ask your student to share what they are working on tomorrow.

LIVE ZOOM HELP

Thank you to all the families who were able to join us over Zoom this weekend.  We understand that there are many questions at this time.  We will be back on live tomorrow, Monday, beginning at 8 a.m.-10:00 a.m. to help with questions and schedules.  We will be available in the afternoon from 4:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m.  Registration is required and the link is copied below:

LUNCH/FOOD SERVICES

Food Services will have Grab And Go Lunches available from 12:00 p.m-2:00 p.m.  Students should bring their identification numbers to receive their meals.  Drive up and walk up services will be offered.

APPRECIATION

Even though our building is closed, our learning will continue for our young scholars.  On behalf of the Taft Team, we wish a very successful first day of school.
